Well I've been her on Paradise Island for just a little over two weeks, and this place continues to amaze me! The majestic beauty of the mountains, the enormous amount and size of the trees and the vast ocean, boggle the mind.
Yet despite all of this,(or maybe because of it) the residents have to be the warmest, down to earth people I have me anywhere.
Most of all the Greene family have welcomed me into their home as one of their own.
And what a home it is. Of course there is Sharon, the matriarch (sorry Sharon, couldn't resist) who, at the moment resides in the downstairs apartment with her eldest daughter Yvonne.
The upstairs is occupied by son Norman and gritlfriend Ashley and their absolutely beautiful daughter Kadynce.
The House sits on 5 and 1/2 acres, nestled in the tiny village of Cassidy.
Living With Sharon & Yvonne (where I have my own room) are Mercedes & Dameien, Yvonn'es English Mastiffs. I have to tell you, if you have never seen a mastiff, these animals are enormous. Damien who is 14 months, tops the scale at 220lbs, while Mercedes, who si 4 is a trim 207.
But these pets are the most sensitive and lovable creatures to walk the face of this earth. From the moment I stepped out of Sharon's truck for the first time, the treated me as one of the family.
Twice each week we travel abour 50 miles, so Damien can take his swimming lessons. Yes you read that right. He hs hip diplasia, and the swinng helps st strengthen them. The thing is, swimming is not exactly natural thing for mastiffs. Due to their size & weight it is quite a task staying afloat in the water. However, Damien is doing so well we are calling him our olympic star.
Also living in these two households, is Casey, and aging German Shepherd/Rotweiler mix, and he is a sweetie too. As well, their are numerous cats. There's Mad Max, Ranger Rick, Sassy, Rascal, Mika and Jayla.
All in all my stay has been wonderful. we've had a few outings and of course shopping, which I will write about in future editions of the newsletter.
